Spirit of Alpine Days award – art that celebrates what makes Alpine such a great place to live!

-Prize values will be determined by number of entrants
-Spaces are approximately 6’x6′, but you can use a smaller amount of space within that area

RULES:
-Only water-based chalk and chalk paints are allowed – no oil pastels, acrylic paints, etc!
-All art must be family friendly and suitable for public viewing by all ages.
-No political slogans or symbols, advertising, nudity, violence, or gore is allowed (social media handles may be included)
-If you reproduce artwork by another artist, living or dead, please credit the original artist in your space.
-Groups are welcome to work on their art together! If you have different age groups working together, even if older people are just “helpers,” please sign up for the mixed age group category.

Helpful tips:
-Buy your chalk ASAP – local stores tend to get bought out
-“Artist pastels” will create more vibrant color. Sidewalk chalk is less expensive, but less vibrant. You can get big packs of both on Amazon!
-Lots of artists will use a mix of both – sidewalk chalk for filling in large areas, artist pastels for adding depth and details.
-Limited individual chalk pieces are available for a nominal amount – 25 cents for sidewalk chalk and $1 for artist pastels – only cash accepted
-Bring water and snacks, sunscreen, a cushion for your knees, spray bottle and a rag for correcting mistakes, a shade canopy, etc.
-All skill levels are welcome!
